WHAT CAN LIPOSUCTION INJECTIONS DO? 

The primary purpose of liposuction injections is to shrink the fat around the chin to create a sleeker, more youthful jawline appearance. Since the injections work by triggering the immune system to reabsorb the unwanted fat the overlying skin is tightened as well. The injections can be used to reduce the fat on other parts of the body like the stomach and thighs.

HOW CAN THE INJECTIONS MAKE ME LOOK MORE YOUTHFUL?

Yes! Dr Neville Lee See and Dr Grace Lin have always believed a natural look is preferable. Since the injections rely on stimulating the body's own immune system to reabsorb the fat the result is natural and even looking.

WHY SHOULD MY INJECTIONS BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED DOCTOR AT KIORA?

Althought far safer than traditional surgical liposuction techniques there are still some small risks involved in the procedure. A good undestanding of the underlying anatomy and the location of critical nerves is essential for a good cosmetic result. In response to a number of tragic and well publicised adverse cosmetic outcomes the Australian Medical Board Guidelines were changed on the 1st of October 2016. The law now requires all patients undergoing cosmetic procedures such as dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injection to be consulted personally (or via Skype) by a qualified Doctor. A nurse-only consultation is illegal. At Kiora, to maximise safety and minimise the reaction time to unexpected events, all such procedures have always been performed personally by an experienced and qualified Cosmetic Doctor.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? 

The treated area like the double chin will see a permanent reduction in the fat. If the patient maintains a stable weight the improvement can last for years.

DOES NON-SURGICAL LIPOSUCTION HURT?

No. Well, not much. As fully qualified doctors have a large number of analgesic techniques to minimise the discomfort. At Kiora the notorious "burning sensation" that occurs with fat melting injections has been almost completely mitigated by the novel use of an anaesthetic agent..

WHAT ABOUT SAFETY? 

The techniques used to non-surgically perform liposuction are far safer than traditional surgery. Temporary damage to the nerves is a rare possibility but is highly unlikely when the procedure is performed by a qualified doctor with a good understanding of the anatomy of the relevant area.

CAN I DRINK ALCOHOL AFTER MY LIPOSUCTION INJECTIONS? WHAT ABOUT FLYING? EXERCISE?

We do not recommend any exercise for 24hrs after your treatment. There can be some swelling and minor pain after the treatement and one or two alcholic drinks or flying immediately after the treatment is ok and will not increase your rate of adverse outcomes.

HOW MUCH DOWNTIME IS THERE AFTER MY LIPOSUCTION INJECTIONS?

Normally there is 1-2 weeks of minor swelling in the treated area. The injections work by triggering the immune system so a little bit of swelling and inflammation is desirable as it helps the immune system reabsorb the fat. For this reason we do not recommend taking anti-inflammatories for 1-2 weeks after the treatment. However, paracetomol is recommended and will not interfere with the result.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

This is heavily dependent on the patient and the problem being addressed. The cost is directly related to the amount of medication used and the numbder of sessions required. Each session normally costs $1500 with most patients only requiring 1-3 sessions in total to see a significant improvement in the area.
