THE NON-SURGICAL FACE LIFT

The field of non-invasive cosmetic medicine has continuously progressed over the last decade. Cosmetic Physicians can now offer aesthetic outcomes comparable to traditional surgical procedures utilising a combination of advanced injection techniques, new generation dermal fillers and lasers. Longevity can be excellent - modern dermal fillers give results that can last longer than 2 years. All patients are seen by one of Kiora's two principle Cosmetic Doctors, Dr Neville Lee See or Dr Grace Lin. They have a special interest in the use of minimally invasive injectable techniques as an alternative to cosmetic surgery and helped introduce many of the techniques first pioneered in asia. They have both been with us continuously since 2005.

ADVANCED COSMETIC INJECTION TECHNIQUES

Kiora's doctors can offer a range of procedures as an alternative to cosmetic surgery. It is the opinion of our doctors these modern non-invasive techniques can give an aesthetic outcome superior to cosmetic surgery. The techinques are very low risk with little downtime. Often there is no need to take any time off work. Kiora's Doctors have over 15yrs experience and their understanding of the underlying anatomy, experience and careful technique means they can offer genuine alternatives to traditional surgical facelift procedures such as:

WHY SHOULD MY NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED DOCTOR AT KIORA?

In response to a number of tragic and well publicised adverse cosmetic outcomes the Australian Medical Board Guidelines were changed on the 1st of October 2016. The law now requires all patients undergoing cosmetic procedures such as non-surgical facelifts and anti-wrinkle injections to be consulted personally by a qualified Doctor. A nurse-only consultation is illegal. At Kiora, to maximise safety and minimise the reaction time to unexpected events, all such procedures have always been performed personally by an experienced and qualified Cosmetic Doctor. We are proud we have always acted in the best interests of our patients and prioritised safety; preempting the Medical Board by over 10yrs.

CORRECTING VOLUME LOSS

As we age, we gradually lose collagen from our skin, resulting in thinner lips, hollowed cheeks and the formation of static wrinkles. A large variety of semi-permanent dermal fillers are now available to restore the volume loss caused by the age-related reduction in collagen. Smoothing wrinkles, filling in hollowed cheeks or tear troughs and creating soft, plump lips results in a healthy, fresh appearance. The treatment can be done during a lunch break. Local anaesthetic blocks make the procedure virtually pain-free. There is usually only minimal bruising and swelling which is easily covered with makeup.

REJUVENATING THE MIDFACE IS THE KEY TO A NON-SURGICAL FACE LIFT

Dr Grace Lin, Medical Director of Kiora, has long advocated restoring volume to the cheeks to give a more natural and fresh appearance to her patients.

My patients often complain of sunken eyes or deep lines around the nose and mouth,” she says, “Often the best way to rejuvenate these features is not to directly inject them but rather to restore volume to flat cheeks. By putting the volume in the mid face between the two areas of concern, you can both effect softening of the lines around the nose/mouth and pull taught the loose skin beneath the eyes. This is one of my favourite areas to inject.”

CORRECTING SKIN QUALITY – TONE, TEXTURE AND TIGHTNESS

Kiora can use a variety of new generation dermal fillers and advanced lasers to improve the skins colour, texture, tightness and colour.

Skin colour correction: The red and brown discolouration that results from photodamage can be corrected by either Green Wavelength Intense Pulse Light or prescription only fading creams. The techniques can be used to remove pigmentation and capillaries to create an even, radiant complexion. Even stained teeth can be brightened with laser teeth whitening.

Skin texture: Texture problems can be greatly improved by resurfacing the skin with pixel erbium-yag fractional resurfacing laser. For more mild texture problems microabrasion can be used.

Skin tightness: Thermage can tighten and thicken the skin by stimulating collagenesis. Thermage works deep down at the deep dermis and fat level to stimulate collagen tightening and regeneration.

CORRECTING DEEP WRINKLES

Deep, permanent wrinkles are produced by the repetitive contraction of expression muscles. The skin is repetitively creased and damaged resulting in the formation of a permanent wrinkle. Deep wrinkles are best treated with a combination of dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections. The dermal fillers directly fill the wrinkle to make the skin appear flat and smooth. The anti-wrinkle injections purpose is to relax the muscles that caused the line in the first place and prevent its reoccurrence.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT TREATMENTS I NEED?

Achieving a fresh, healthy look without surgery requires detailed knowledge of anatomy and a keen sense of aesthetics. At Kiora, all Cosmetic Procedures are performed by one of our two principle Cosmetic Doctors, never by a nurse injector. They take the time to analyze your features, discuss treatment options available and suggest the best course of action for you. They offer a viable alternative to cosmetic surgery in Melbourne to give real aesthetic results with little down time.
