HOW DOES THERMAGE WORK? The Thermage procedure employs a patented radiofrequency (RF) technology to tighten and gently lift skin to smooth out wrinkles and renew facial contours. It delivers a controlled amount of RF energy to the deep layers of the skin whilst simultaneously protecting the outer layers with active cooling. The deep uniform heating warms the deep collagen of your skin to about 60°C. The effect is two-fold. Firstly, the collagen denatures and the fibrils contract and thicken - immediately tightening the skin. Secondly the wound healing response causes dermal remodelling - causing additional tightening of the skin over the next 3-6 months.
