WHAT ARE COSMETIC SKIN LASERS? Cosmetic Skin Lasers rely on the principle of selective absorption. Different structures in the skin will preferentially absorb a specific wavelengths of light whilst leaving other structures untouched, Thus a light tuned to a peak wavelength of 650nm (red light) will destroy hair follicles whilst a light tuned to the peak 540nm wavelength (green light) will preferentially heat up and destroy the haemoglobin in small blood vessels thus eliminating small spider veins and spider naevi.
